Description:  Safe Kids Walking is a not-for-profit social enterprise, promoting road safety, in particular walking buses and the wearing of high visibility clothing.
More children than ever before are being regularly taken to school by car. It is widely recognised that children today are too car-dependent and as a result are not learning the road safety skills that we learnt a generation ago. The many cars parked by the school gates create danger zones for pedestrians, especially as they block a child's view of the road, and reverse and manoeuvre. Those children who are taken and collected by car are at risk, too, as they walk on to or across the road before getting into their parent's car.
Safe Kids Walking aims to address these problems by providing information and advice to schools and parents who want to set up a walking bus, and providing a source of high visiblity clothing and accessories.
