Sudborough is a relatively small community of no more than 300. The Village was originally called Suth Burh - South Fort - an outpost for the nearby, larger, village of Brigstock. The village boasts a pub, named after a local landowning family, that offers a particularly varied selection of 'real ales'. The village once had its own brewery, started in the 1500s.There has been a church on the present site of All Saints CHurch in Sudborough since the first century. The present building is based on the remains of a 12th century building.

The church is still used and has been well maintained, largely as a result of major renovations in the 19th and early 20th ceturies, funded by local benefactors, notably the owner of the local Tebbutts Brewery. The church interior contains mainly early English and Gothic architecture, plus an interesting collection of memorials. During restoration work a Saxon grave slab was discovered, dating from around 975AD.A stained glass window depicting St.Francis, St.George and St.Hubert.
