The crocuses paved the way for the annual display of daffodils. The number of varieties available now leads to a vary varied display. The only draback seems to be the reluctance of gardeners to cut them back after flowering, to aid growth for next year. With the warmer climate it takes a long time for the remaining foliage to die off.
