DAMBUSTERS 60TH ANNIVERSARY
In May 1943 Stuarts & Lloyds, who built the reservoir known as 'Corby Dam' to supply water to the Corby steelworks, allowed the RAF to use it for low flying practice. Only when the 'dambusters' raid by the pilots of 617 squadron had taken place could they be told why it was so important.
