Since its first gathering in 1986 in a village effort to raise funds to restore the village church to its original glory Hollowell Steam Rally has become a major charity fundraising event every year. Now the proceeds of the show are donated to Northamptonshire charities and good causes. Still run by volunteers, the show now attracts steam engine and traction engine owners from all over the country.
This year the Classic Gold 1557 team were lending a hand to help make the event a success - with plenty of promotion on the radio station and plenty of 'freebies' on the day!
'That's not to say that it was really hard work for the team! As John Griff said, with all the sights and sounds reminicent of Mamod childhood steam engines and meccano it was any boys dream day out!!!
