25/08/2010 BANK HOLIDAY FUN AT NORTHAMPTONSHIRE EDUCATION CENTRE
	Knuston Hall will be throwing open its doors again this Bank Holiday Monday (30 August) inviting members of the public to take part in a host of activities, including a pudding club, Punch and Judy shows and Morris dancing. After the success of last year’s open day, Northamptonshire County Council has again organised this day so that residents of the county can find out more about the range of activities and services available at Knuston Hall, an adult residential college in Irchester. The open day offers the chance to visit Europe’s last remaining thatching school, and look around the grade two listed Knuston Hall and its grounds. During the day there will be demonstrations of arts and crafts by the college’s tutors, woodcarving, stalls and live music. Refreshment will come in the form of a hog roast, assorted homemade treats and a Pimms tent, whilst a bar will be open all day. Councillor Andre Gonzalez de Savage, county council cabinet member for Customers and Communities said: “Knuston Hall’s open day promises to be a great day out for the whole family. There will be a range of activities and entertainment on offer, as well as the chance to discover more about this wonderful historic building. You will also be able to see first-hand how the grand surrounding of Knuston Hall is the perfect setting to learn new skills and crafts.” The event is open from 11am until 4pm with free entry and parking.
