BLUE PETER PRESENTERS HOPE TO UNDERTAKE WING WALKING CHALLENGE AT DUXFORD AIR SHOW

Blue Peter presenters Andy Akinwolere and Zoe Salmon are hoping to take to the sky with the glamorous Team Guinot girls as part of a wing walking challenge at the Imperial War Museum Duxford’s Spring Air Show on Sunday 18 May.

The world’s only formation wing walking team, Team Guinot, will be part of a three hour flying extravaganza and will be thrilling the crowds with their exhilarating act at over 100 mph. During their main display slot the team will be pioneering a daring new wing walking manoeuvre before, weather depending, performing a second display with the Blue Peter presenters.

Following her successful display debut with the wing walkers last summer, Zoe Salmon is keen to perform an aerobatic wing walking display with her fellow presenter Andy Akinwolere. Says Tracey Woods from Duxford “We are delighted to have Team Guinot and hopefully Blue Peter with us for this Show. The Boeing Stearman aircraft and the wing walking girls have always been popular with Duxford audiences and I’m sure the crowd will give every encouragement to Andy and Zoe for this daring challenge.”

Team Guinot is just one of the participants which will appear at the show, thrilling spectators with a non-stop exciting display of over 3 hours. Alongside the Typhoon will be a huge variety of aircraft from the Spitfire and Hurricane fighters of yesteryear through to some of the early jets and other combat aircraft.

It will be a full day out at Duxford for old and young alike as the air display will be complemented by trade stands, simulator rides, and tank running and riding. In addition, the whole of the Museum will be open for visitors to explore and there’s the opportunity to get up closer to some of the display aircraft on the flightline walk.

Duxford is located just south of Cambridge at junction 10 of the M11. Gates open at 8.00 am and the flying begins at 2.00 pm. Tickets - Adults £24.95, Senior Citizens £22, Children £9.95, Disabled/Concession £9.95. All flying subject to weather, serviceability and operational commitments.
