|---|---|---|---|
| OFFICERS from Northamptonshire Police are re-appealing for a lorry driver who stopped at the scene of a fatal road traffic incident to come forward. The collision happened at about 5.50am on Wednesday March 16 on the A6116 road, at the junction with Lyveden New Bield, near Brigstock, in the northeast of Northamptonshire. A blue Mercedes van was in collision with a blue Ford Escort car and as a result of the collision, the driver of the Ford Escort – 26 year old Neil Emerton of Irthlingborough, Northants - suffered fatal injuries. In particular, officers would like to speak to the driver of a white lorry, which stopped at the scene but left before police arrived. The lorry is described as being a large rigid- type vehicle with British registration plates and orange writing or a logo on the door. It is believed the lorry may have had minor damage, although it is not known whether it was involved in this incident. The vehicle left the scene and continued its journey along the A6116 towards the A14. This lorry could have been travelling anywhere in the country. The driver of this lorry or anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it, is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police’s Road Policing Unit on 01604 700700 or call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615. |
